It's official. RelightDepot is now a recognized Service and Product Provider (SPP) partner in the ENERGY STAR® program.

What’s involved in becoming an ENERGY STAR Partner?

To be accepted as a partner in the program provided by the EPA and DOE, we had to meet several requirements. The most significant requirement was the submission of a detailed energy efficiency profile from a company we directly assisted with improving the energy efficiency of their operation, detailing the project scope and resulting savings. By agreeing to abide by the ENERGY STAR program guidelines we now have access to additional technical data, tools and services to help our customers develop effective performance strategies. For instance, we can use industry-specific Energy Performance Indicators (EPIs) to benchmark goals for energy efficiency that track usage over time while normalizing for weather and building characteristics. Why is our status as ENERGY STAR Retail Partner important to you?

It provides visible support of our commitment to our commercial and industrial customers. By replacing outdated and inefficient fluorescent lighting and magnetic ballasts with ENERGY STAR certified products, our customers reduce their energy bills by as much as 40%. Choosing compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) also reduces maintenance costs as CFLs generally last 5 to 15 times longer than incandescent bulbs. Equally as important, properly lit workspaces provide the added benefit of enhancing your employees’ productivity and morale. Studies by groups like the National Research Council (NRC) and the New Buildings Institute (NBI) have shown indoor environment conditions have a measurable relationship to worker performance. In addition, adding an accessible lighting control system can pay extra dividends. The Light Right Consortium research concluded that workers are 6% more comfortable when they have individual control over their lighting environment.
