Perimeter lighting systems and LED cove lights create the continuous, indirect illumination that defines the architectural character of hotel lobbies, retail spaces, upscale corridors, and commercial interiors where the fixture itself is meant to disappear into the architecture. Unlike direct fixtures that produce visible pools of light, perimeter and cove systems wash walls and ceilings with soft, even light that reads as part of the building design.

Perimeter systems typically run along the junction of wall and ceiling and are recessed into a custom or off-the-shelf cove detail. The fixture is usually a low-profile LED linear that outputs light upward, downward, or both, depending on the effect specified. Color temperature, CRI, and dimming range are critical specification parameters because perimeter lighting operates continuously and sets the ambient tone of the entire space.

Cove lighting integrates cleanly into millwork and architectural details. LED strip and linear flex systems are often the preferred solution for custom cove profiles where a rigid fixture will not fit and continuity of output across the full run is required.
