RelightDepot Participates in Lighting Survey by Precision Paragon
Growth. It’s what powers an industry to profitability.
Precision-Paragon [P2], one of the country’s leading lighting manufacturers for commercial and industrial buildings, recently completed its annual “State of the Lighting Industry” survey on lighting industry trends. Industry growth was robust, as expected. One of the most exciting lighting industry updates reported was that 67 percent of lighting industry experts experienced either moderate or substantial growth in 2012.
While this lighting industry news is certainly exciting, it gets better: 77 percent of the survey participants predicted moderate or substantial growth in 2013.
What Does This Mean for Commercial Lighting Customers?
RelightDepot participated in this survey, and we couldn’t be more excited about the results. As a lighting retrofit superstore for commercial and industrial use, we are always thrilled to see that the trend towards energy-efficient lighting continues to dominate the lighting industry. More than a discount online lamp and lighting fixture catalog, RelightDepot is a full solution provider. We provide industrial lighting solutions for Energy Service Companies (ESCO's), Lighting Consultants, Lighting Engineers, warehouse managers, property managers, and facility managers – basically anyone who is responsible for lighting audits or purchasing and installation of energy-efficient lighting at the commercial level. “The lighting professionals who take our survey know the industry,” explained John Martin, P2’s vice president and general manager. “Based on our past experience, I think it’s fairly likely that we’ll see their predictions come true between now and the end of the year.” The results of this survey provide some excellent information to those who are interested in purchasing energy-efficient lighting. Many people associate LED lighting as the gold standard in energy efficient lighting, and indeed, LED lighting remains a significant element (26 percent according to survey takers) in contributing to lighting industry revenues. The buzz about the lighting industry that outsiders usually hear about seems to revolve around LED lighting more than any other aspect of the industry. However, new technologies in fluorescent lighting (T5 and T5HO) are actually the predominant fuel that drives lighting industry revenues. Those within the industry–representing 68 percent of the survey takers–expect linear fluorescent lighting to be the dominant technology they install in 2013. These aren’t your grandfather’s fluorescent bulbs; with recent advances, fluorescent lighting fixtures can now last 12 years (80,000 hours), based on a 12-hour, 365-day usage model. “Even as LED technology continues to improve, advances in fluorescent lighting technology have helped keep it a very attractive option”, concluded Martin. Industrial lighting customers might not have been aware of that fact, and now they know: energy-efficient lighting is not all about LEDs.RelightDepot Provides Solutions – With a Free Consultation
