T5HO (High Output) fluorescent lamps are high-performance versions of standard T5 lamps, running at higher current to produce significantly more lumens from the same 5/8-inch diameter tube. A 4-foot T5HO lamp produces approximately 5,000 lumens at 54W, compared to roughly 2,800 lumens at 28W for a standard T5. This higher lumen output makes T5HO lamps the preferred source in commercial high-bay and industrial applications, including warehouses, gymnasiums, manufacturing facilities, and sports lighting, where high light levels are required from relatively compact fixtures.
T5HO lamps use the same miniature bi-pin G5 base as standard T5 lamps but require ballasts rated specifically for T5HO current. Using a T5HO lamp on a standard T5 ballast will result in reduced output or lamp failure, so it is important to match the lamp to a compatible T5HO ballast. Primary lengths available are 2-foot (24W) and 4-foot (54W), with some specialized 3-foot and 6-foot versions for specific fixture families. Color temperatures of 3000K, 3500K, 4100K, and 5000K are available.
