HID retrofit lamps let contractors and facilities managers convert existing high-pressure sodium, metal halide, and mercury vapor fixtures to LED or high-efficiency light sources without replacing the entire housing. These direct-replacement lamps use the same base as the original HID lamp and are engineered to work with existing ballasts or to bypass them entirely, depending on the product type. The result is dramatically lower wattage, better color rendering, and longer lamp life with minimal labor cost.
