EiKO HBX3 and BAYE3 Round High Bay Promo for Warehouse and Industrial Retrofits

EiKO HBX3 and BAYE3 Round High Bay Promo for Warehouse and Industrial Retrofits

Most high bay retrofits start with a fixture count, not a photometric plan. Someone walks the floor, counts the 400W and 1000W metal halides still hanging, and needs a replacement that lands close on light level without paying to redesign the building. EiKO's HBX3 and BAYE3 round LED high bays are built for that job: one fixture, several wattage settings, and on some models, field-selectable color temperature. RelightDepot has limited stock of four of these SKUs on promotion now, first come, first served.

Why Field-Selectable Wattage Matters on Retrofit and Bid Work

The old HID layout was designed around lamps that lost a large share of their output long before anyone relamped them. Wattage-for-wattage matching rarely lands right. Overshoot and you hear about glare and wasted energy. Undershoot and the forklift drivers notice first. A fixture you can turn down on site absorbs that uncertainty without a return.

On new construction and renovation, the engineer sets the foot-candle target and the fixture schedule. When the spec allows an approved equal, one PowerSET fixture can cover several lumen packages on that schedule. That means one cut sheet in the submittal, one line on the PO, and one fixture in the maintenance team's attic stock.

It also protects you when scope changes late. If the owner adds racking or changes how a bay is used, you change a setting instead of a reorder.

How PowerSET and FieldCCeT Work on These Fixtures

The two features do different jobs, and not every model has both. Here is what each one covers.

PowerSET Wattage Selection

PowerSET is EiKO's selectable wattage. You set the output before installation. The range depends on the model:

  • HBX3 PS150: 150, 130, 100, or 80W, from 24,000 down to 12,800 lumens. EiKO rates the 150W setting as a 400W HID replacement and the 80W setting as a 250W HID replacement.
  • HBX3 PS300: 300, 285, 270, or 255W, from 48,000 down to 40,800 lumens. Rated as a 1000W HID replacement at 300W and a 750W HID replacement at 255W.
  • BAYE3 PS150: 150, 130, or 100W, from 22,500 down to 15,000 lumens, rated for up to 400W HID.

Note the PS300's narrow spread, about 15 percent top to bottom. It trims output; it does not turn a 1000W replacement into a 400W replacement. If one building has bays at 18 ft and 40 ft, you are still buying two fixtures.

FieldCCeT Color Selection

FieldCCeT puts the color temperature selector on the fixture. The white HBX3 offers 4000K or 5000K, and the BAYE3 offers three settings. Both black HBX3 models ship fixed at 4000K.

On new work, CCT is set in the spec. On retrofit, the owner or facility manager usually picks it, often to match fixtures from an earlier phase. That is where selectable CCT pays off. A phase two shipment in a different color than phase one is obvious from the floor.

Pro Tip: Set wattage and CCT on the ground, before the fixture goes up on the lift. Mark the setting on the housing with a paint pen so the crew at height is not guessing. Finding a wrong setting at 30 ft costs you a second lift trip.

The Three Promo SKUs at a Glance

The three fixtures on promotion split into two groups: white housings with 120 to 347V input and field-set CCT, and black housings with 277 to 480V input at a fixed 4000K. All three are DLC 5.1 Premium listed, IP65, wet location rated, 80+ CRI, with 0-10V dimming.

SKU Wattage Settings Max Lumens CCT Input Voltage Housing Diameter
HBX3-PS150-FCCT-H-WH 150/130/100/80W 24,000 lm 4000K or 5000K 120 to 347V White 13 in.
HBX3-PS300-40-V 300/285/270/255W 48,000 lm 4000K 277 to 480V Black 15 3/8 in.
BAYE3-PS150-FCCT-H-WH 150/130/100W 22,500 lm Three settings 120 to 347V White 11 3/16 in.

The HBX3 runs 160 lm/W. The BAYE3 runs 150 lm/W, has the most compact housing at 5 11/16 in. tall, and adds a 12V auxiliary output covered in the controls section below.

Voltage, Housing, and Controls: Matching the Fixture to the Building

Three configuration choices decide whether a fixture works in the building you actually have. Get any of them wrong, and the order comes back.

120 to 347V or 277 to 480V

The V models run directly on 480V. In plants and distribution centers with 480Y/277V service, you can feed high bays from 480V panels, skip step-down transformers for the lighting load, and run fewer circuits for the same fixture count. On a straight retrofit, you usually reuse whatever voltage the HID fixtures were on.

Verify the actual service before you order, not just the old fixture label. Some older buildings still run 480V delta, including corner-grounded delta. Confirm compatibility before putting any 480V-rated LED driver on a delta system. The H models cover 120 through 277V, plus 347V for Canadian projects.

Black or White Housing

Housing color belongs to the designer or owner. A black fixture disappears against a dark-painted open deck. White suits white deck, gyms, and retail. On these promo SKUs, color also follows voltage: the black units are the 480V-capable models and the white units are 120 to 347V. If the job calls for a white fixture on 480V, these SKUs will not cover it.

0-10V Dimming and Energy Code Controls

All three dim on 0-10V, and that matters for code. The IECC requires occupant sensors in warehouse aisles and open areas that cut lighting power by at least 50 percent when unoccupied, and ASHRAE 90.1 carries comparable requirements. Whether a retrofit triggers them depends on the code edition your jurisdiction adopted and how much of the lighting you replace. The AHJ makes that call, so ask before you bid controls in or out.

The BAYE3's 12V auxiliary output can power a compatible low-voltage sensor directly from the fixture, which takes a separate power pack out of the scope. Confirm sensor compatibility before you submit.

On retrofits with no control wiring, fixtures often go in with dimming leads capped. That is fine where the code does not require controls on the job, and it leaves room to add sensors later.

Installation Notes for the Contractor

Round high bays wire fast. The labor on these jobs goes into access. Plan around these points:

  • Confirm the mounting method against the existing structure. Check the spec sheet for hook, pendant, and conduit options before assuming your existing hangers will work.
  • Add a secondary support cable where the AHJ or owner requires it. Over aisles and work areas, it is common practice either way.
  • Book lift time around the racking. Narrow aisles, live inventory, and forklift traffic drive the schedule more than fixture count.
  • Phase occupied buildings by zone so operations keep light. Night and weekend shifts are normal in distribution work.
  • On metal halide change-outs, pull the ballast and capacitor and reuse the branch circuit where its condition allows. The new load is a fraction of the old one.
  • Use the environmental ratings. IP65, a wet location listing, and NEMA 4X on the HBX3 put dock doors, unheated storage, and hose-down areas in range. Food processing may need additional listings, so confirm those separately.
  • Check the temperature range. All three models are rated down to -40°F. The upper limit is 131°F for the HBX3 PS150 and 122°F for the PS300 and BAYE3, worth checking near the roof deck in hot climates.
  • Inspect cartons on delivery and note damage on the bill of lading before you sign.
ROI Example: A 1000W metal halide fixture draws roughly 1,080W with ballast losses. The HBX3 PS300 at full output draws 300W. Across 100 fixtures running 4,000 hours a year, that is about 312,000 kWh saved before sensors cut anything further. Multiply by your blended utility rate. DLC 5.1 Premium status also qualifies these fixtures for many utility rebate programs, so check the local program before you finalize the bid.

Where These Round High Bays Fit Best

Voltage, housing, and output narrow down where each fixture belongs:

  • Distribution centers and warehouses with high mounting heights: HBX3-PS300-40-V on 480V service. See our warehouse lighting guide for layout considerations.
  • Manufacturing and fabrication on 480V plant power: HBX3-PS150-40-V and HBX3-PS300-40-V, chosen by bay height.
  • Light industrial, flex space, and smaller warehouses (15 to 25 ft): HBX3 PS150 models, with the 80W setting covering small bays.
  • School gyms and rec centers: BAYE3 or the white HBX3, with 120 to 277V input and field-set CCT to match existing fixtures. See the school gymnasium lighting guide.
  • Big box retail and wholesale: White HBX3 or BAYE3, with 0-10V tied into daylight or scheduling controls.
  • Cold storage and unheated warehouses: HBX3, rated to -40°F with a wet location listing.
  • Auto service bays and agricultural or equipment buildings: HBX3 PS150 models, for the wet rating and NEMA 4X housing.
